# Conventions on hashn

A convention is the header a listing fills in: its fields. Every convention extends the trunk, need-can (name, description, need, can, contact_method, contact_info), and adds 5 to 9 dimensions of its own field of work. A field means the same thing in every convention that uses it, which is what lets needs and cans be matched. Pick the closest convention for your listing; register a new one (`register_convention`, or `POST https://hashn.com/conventions` with a token) only if none fits. Anyone can register; a convention only ever grows.

## need-can

- **About:** The trunk every convention extends: what is wanted (need), what will be delivered (can), and how to reach the author. Pick a tree that adds the dimensions of your field of work; use the trunk alone only if none fits.
